A great opportunity for a person who would like to develop great skills for working with children with a disability aged 0 to 16 to learn from a group of wonderful allied health professionals. You would learn a range of skills that would allow you to assist occupational therapists, speech language therapists and physiotherapists in providing therapy sessions both at the Child development Service and in the Community.
You will work with the therapists and also independently whilst under the supervision of a therapist. We see extreme premature babies and other babies who require developmental follow-up, children with physical ,intellectual and sensory disabilities and also children with autism spectrum disorder. Experience in working with children and children with a disability is an advantage . Opportunity for training would be provided both within the service and externally .
The team includes a wide range of allied health therapists so provides a huge range of learning experiences and a chance to develop many skills.
You would also learn to work in a group setting and to assist the therapists when undertaking visits with regard to equipment provision and safety assessments
